Hello, I’m Antonio and I took part to the “Comenius” project in Latvia. When my teacher prof. Maiellaro (Italian coordinator) asked me if I wanted to join to Comenius’ project, I agreed immediately.
I had never been on the plane and I was very excited.
On the 28th February at 23:50 we left Tursi by Intersaj and we arrived in Rome the morning of 29th.
From Rome we took the “Air Baltic” airline from Fiumicino airport at 13:50 and arrived at 18:00 in “Riga”.
In Riga we went by bus to “Valmiera”. Once there we found our partner.
Danilo and I went to their homes while our teachers went to the hotel.
When I arrived at Katy’s home (my partner) her grandmother was there waiting for us and I had a very warmly welcomed. The next day we went to school. We visited the school; here we did the several presentations by Power point we prepared about sport.
From the eight European Nations that took part in the project there were 2 students for each Country. The school was beautiful and there were both children who attended the kindergarten, those who attended the elementary and high schools.
At 13:00 we went to a show with horses. Valmiera is a town of about 20,000 inhabitants and was very nice and there was lots of snow. In the afternoon at about 17:00 we went to school to see the concert from the children from both boys / girls of our age.
This show was very funny but after it happened and a wonderful thing; at
a certain point they called me and I went by the stage and immediately I saw Katy with a cake with 16 candles on it, and they all sang “happy birthday to you …”. This was the best moment of this wonderful journey; I put out all the candles and then I celebrated my birthday with all the students taking part in COMENIUS project
This was my best birthday party of my life. We did the typical games of the place that were beautiful.
The next morning we went to visited the museum of wax and tea. Then at 12:00 we went to a factory where they made milk, cheese and yogurt.
At about 15:00 we went on the snow skiing.
In the evening I went to find my friend Danilo and there was another beautiful experience because this student, “Alex” of Danilo’s partner, had a sauna in his house; and there I enjoyed it very much because it was the first time I did a sauna.
The next day i.e. Saturday, 03/03/12 morning we went shopping. In the afternoon Danilo came in my home, Katy, Joseph, Alex and I, we saw a movie in Italian language and we listened to some songs.
The next morning Danilo the prof. and I we left Valmiera for Riga’s aero port and there we visited the beautiful city of Riga and at 20:30 we left with the “Ryan Air”. Company at about 23:00 we arrived in Rome Ciampino airport here two machines waited for us and took us to our homes. This experience was incredibly beautiful and I’m glad I had done it.
